In the early 21th century the French sociologists of art have invented the neologism “artification” to name the process by which a human production goes from the status of “not art” (or low art) to that of art (or high art). I try to show by which ways one can consider street art according to that perspective of its potential “artification”, why it is sometimes pertinent, sometimes not because an aspect is generally forgotten: the role of the WEB on this process of “artification”and thus on the evolutions of urban approaches of it. I use for that the work of sociological investigation I made with numerous known or unknown French and European artists, investigation in the real world and in the virtual one (and especially the DSN: Digital Social Networks). This largely sociological approach is, in my opinion, indispensable in the programs of memorization and enhancement of a heritage often termed ephemeral.
