In this book one can find a quick description of the unpublished notebooks and drafts of William Henry Fox Talbot (especially those owned by the British Library, London). But the author, who studied the Annals of Gergonne, the first important journal of mathematics (1810-1832), and who published it in a digital version on the website http://numdam.org, proposes in the second part of his book the complete corpus of the texts Talbot published in this journal when he was 22-23 years old. Without going into a detailed study of the contents of these documents, Christian Gerini offers us a tool for mathematicians, historians of mathematics and for the biographers of W.-H.-F. Talbot.
